Rachel Anise, otherwise known as The Beauty Professor, is a 12-year beauty expert, full-time professor of Communication Studies, and mom to a 6 year old with a penchant for resource-driven content creation. When not teaching, writing, hosting or consulting, she spends an inordinate amount of time thoroughly testing and sharing her favorite products, which skew towards her endless pursuit of the perfect foundation and pinky nude lip color. Her website, features in-depth reviews, true-to-life images, and video tutorials that collectively create an authentic and interactive community for beauty lovers who want to put their best face (and communication skills!) forward. Q: WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE @ANFISASKIN PRODUCT?
A: It's a tie between ÂN-GLOSS (the product that made me fall in love with the brand and currently on my 4th tube!) and ÂN-BALM, which I use with my LYMA laser for the most elegant and nourishing glide.
Q: WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE SKINCARE STEP AND WHY?
A: At the end of a very long day, I look forward to embracing one of my favorite skincare devices while watching classic TV with my husband. The two that I reach for most are my LYMA laser (if you stay consistent, it delivers incredible results) and my ZIIP Halo, which offers instant gratification and long term benefits. The process allows me to mentally and physically unwind while giving my skin its best.
Q: WHAT ARE YOUR TOP 3 RIDE OR DIE SKINCARE PRODUCTS?
A: A gently exfoliating cleanser to make my skin glow (adore the one from Olivia Umma), a radiant, tinted mineral sunscreen (current favorite is from Iris & Romeo) and a plush and protective lip balm (ÂN-GLOSS all the way).
Q: WHO IS YOUR CURRENT FAV SKINCARE CONTENT CREATOR?
A: I love @Penn.Smith.Skincare. She does such an excellent job of deep diving into the science and efficacy of ingredients, beauty devices and treatments. I appreciate her vast knowledge and authentic, educational delivery style!
Q: WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE WAY TO INCORPORATE @ANFISASKIN PRODUCTS INTO YOUR ROUTINE?
A: I find myself using ANFISA Skin every single day. I apply ÂN-GLOSS morning and evening (it looks gorgeous with nude lip liner and I love that it stays on through a full night of sleep) and ÂN-BALM is always within an arm's reach to moisturize, add radiance, and serve as a companion to my LYMA laser. I never travel without either of these exquisite formulas!
Q: WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE BEAUTY TREATMENT AND WHY?
A: I'm surprisingly low-maintenance when it comes to beauty treatments like facials etc., but always appreciate a visit to Sous La Face for the buccal massage or the Biologique Recherche Ambassade for a scalp treatment. In general, I believe in a minimalist, "less is more" approach to taking care of my skin and focus more on diet and exercise to assist in the process. I have a rigorous wellness routine that includes a daily intake of supplements including collagen, colostrum, inulin and magnesium (on my feet before bed), mouth tape (for optimal breathing habits and the best sleep) and Pilates 3-4 times a week. I don't drink alcohol and stay away from refined sugar but eat plenty of protein and healthy fats (butter is my favorite for brain power and bouncy skin). It's definitely an inside out approach!
Q: HOW DO YOU STAY UP-TO-DATE ON NEW PRODUCTS AND BRANDS?
A: As a beauty expert for the past 12 years, I'm grateful to work with all the brands I admire and a major part of my job is to test new launches (which arrive regularly via press samples) and honestly review them on my channels for my BP community. The products that make it into my content constitute approximately 7-10% of what I receive and trial; I truly have to love it to feel confident recommending it to those who have trusted me for years. When it comes to Beauty Professor, my credibility in this industry is my most valuable asset and that reality will always guide which new products and brands I choose to test and share.
