Uplevel Your Slugging With ANFISA

Uplevel Your Slugging With ANFISA

If you’ve been following along on TikTok, you know our Radiant Hydra-Balm has quickly become the official uplevel to a little social media skincare craze called slugging.

Did you just lol reading that? I know, right? But hear me out… The process (and the science behind it) is way more sophisticated than it sounds.

Slugging is performed by applying an occlusive layer as the final step of your skincare routine before heading to bed. With this oo-ey, goo-ey layer, you lock in moisture and prevent transepidermal water loss that occurs during sleep, while simultaneously preserving the full benefits of any products used immediately prior.

Say hello to your dewiest-ever morning after.

If you’ve been curious about this skincare trend, it’s reasonable to have a few hesitations. Originally, slugging became popular with vaseline and aquaphor, and as one of our community members shared, “I have acne prone skin and slathering my face in Vaseline is a no-go for me.”

In a total pinch-me moment, we were featured in an Allure article all about how to use our dewy balm as a luxury alternative. Our Hydra-Balm brings its own array of strengths to the table while helping your other skincare faves perform better. Collaboration is the spice of life, no?

Skincare enthusiasts around the globe are waking up to the idea of swapping their tried-and-true with a layer that’s better for the environment, all-natural, and comes with its own healing ingredients to seal in all that other goodness.

As Jessica writes, “I gravitate toward products that are both potent and effective; the more multitasking, the better.”

As a skincare science nerd – and maybe a touch Type-A – I can totally relate.

Slugging may not be new on the skincare scene, but slugging with benefits is something we’re proud to take credit for.
